At Emsa, we believe that behind everything we do, there are people. Behind every order, every delivery, every call and every project, there is a team working with rigor, commitment and a strong service mindset.
Today, we would like to introduce Pilar Calle Jené, the new Operations and Logistics Director at Emsa Tecnología Química.
A solid track record in operations excellence

Pilar has more than 30 years of professional experience and a broad, multidisciplinary background covering both the business sphere as well as international trade and public administration. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management, a Degree in Advertising and Public Relations, and a Diploma in Public Management and Administration, and has further strengthened her profile with several master’s degrees and postgraduate programs in international business management, training and career guidance, and international trade.
This combination of expertise enables her to bring a strategic and operational vision that is essential in a highly demanding environment such as the chemical sector.
What attracted you to Emsa?
“The opportunity to work in a solid company within the chemical sector, with strong growth potential and constant evolution, offering great opportunities for learning and development.
I highly value being part of a highly regulated sector, where safety, procedures and quality play a key role.
In addition, during the interviews I felt very comfortable and felt a strong connection with the kind of company culture I was looking for.”
How would you describe your working style in one sentence?
“Performance-driven, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and team talent.”
What’s the first thing you explain when someone asks you, “What do you do?”
“Making sure day-to-day operations run smoothly — from purchasing and production to work organization — with the ultimate goal of delivering the product to the customer.”
What tool or habit can’t be missing from your work routine?
“Mental planning and order in the workplace. In operations and logistics, being highly proactive is essential — without organization, you can create chaos within your team instead of adding value.”
What do you value most about the team you work with?
“Team unity, proactivity, and ensuring that everyone feels fully developed and valued in order to foster their personal growth.”
Is there any hobby or activity that helps you disconnect from work?
“I have several. I practice Hapkido, a Korean martial art, as well as Pilates, which helps me strengthen my core and work on toning.
And of course, sharing moments and experiences with my family — children constantly offer life lessons and personal enrichment.”
A book, movie or series you would recommend to the team?
“IKIGAI: The Japanese Art of Living with Purpose, by Eric McLuhan.
It’s a book I bought after returning from my trip to Japan this summer — I’m fascinated by Japanese culture.”
Welcome, Pilar!
We will continue sharing new voices from our team, because we believe that committed chemistry starts with people.
