RUCOSIL® B-HA

Description

RUCOSIL® B-HA is an aqueous emulsion of a functional polysiloxane, designed as a solvent-free hydrophobic additive for aqueous coating systems such as silicate- or silicone resin-based façade paints and renders. Its main function is to reduce water absorption and enhance the beading or water-sliding effect without affecting water vapour permeability.

It is especially suitable for mineral and façade coatings where protection against moisture is required while maintaining the breathability of the system.

Significantly reduces water absorption in paint and render systems, helping to protect façades against moisture.
Promotes a lotus-effect surface, providing visible water repellency.
Does not affect the breathability of the coating, allowing mineral substrates to release internal moisture.
Water-based formulation suitable for aqueous coating systems and low-solvent formulations.
Improves coating performance against water exposure during the early stages after application. Continuous exposure to rain gradually washes out the emulsifiers from the additive, enhancing the lotus effect over time.
Suitable for silicone resin, silicate, dispersion and dispersion-silicate paints and renders.
Can be added during or after production, with recommended dosages between 1–5% by weight according to the technical data sheet.
Milky white appearance, approximately 50% active substance content and alkaline pH of 9–10.
