HPMC, HEMC, HEC, HPS – what are these products and what are they used for?
The truth is that they have a very wide range of uses and are part of many of the products we use on a daily basis. They are non-ionic polymers, mainly used as thickeners, water retainers, stabilisers, emulsifiers and dispersants in a wide range of applications such as building materials, paints, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, personal care …
BUT TODAY WE WILL TALK ABOUT THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR:
It is an additive of great importance for the manufacture of all types of cement-based mortars, gypsum-based mortars, putties and paints.
In autumn 2020, EMSA signed an agreement with the manufacturer DK FINECHEM to distribute its cellulose ethers in the Iberian Peninsula, under the brand name MEICELL. DK FINECHEM is one of the leaders in the cellulose ethers industry with production in both China and South Korea. Its MEICELL product range is used in different industries (construction, paints, ceramics, personal care, food and pharmaceuticals). DK FINECHEM is also investing heavily in new developments to position itself at the forefront of cellulose ether technology.
