At Emsa, we continue to expand our portfolio with innovative products for the Paints/Coatings sector. We have now introduced Verd CA-18, a coalescent developed by the Greek company Verd, renowned for its commitment to sustainability and research excellence.
Verd stands out for its focus on research and development, collaborating with European institutes and leading initiatives such as cooking oil recycling. This expertise has allowed Verd to broaden its impact in the Renewable Energy Sector (RES) and develop innovative products such as Verd CA-18, a coalescent made from recycled cooking oil.
Verd CA-18 is a sustainable alternative to traditional coalescents, offering equal or even superior performance in most cases with lower dosage. Additionally, it has a higher boiling point than most other coalescents and is ECOLABEL certified for use in both interior and exterior paints.
The ECOLABEL certification program, independently managed and based on scientific studies, ensures that products meet strict sustainability standards throughout their lifecycle, promoting minimal environmental impact during production and consumption.
Benefits and Advantages of VERD CA-18
- Highly efficient and cost-effective: offers superior results with lower or similar dosages.
- Wide compatibility: ideal for styrene-acrylic, acrylic, and veova-based systems.
- Sustainability guaranteed: odorless, biodegradable, biocircular, and free of VOCs.
- Comparable wet scrub resistance to other coalescents.
- Thickener reduction: helps reduce the use of associative thickeners.
- Versatility in production: recommended for the grinding phase to achieve optimal results.
The use of circular economy-based ingredients in paint production reduces resource waste and strengthens a brand’s commitment to sustainability. Incorporating recycled ingredients like Verd CA-18 transforms waste into valuable resources, reduces environmental impact, and improves the perception of eco-friendly paints in a market increasingly focused on responsible practices.
At Emsa, we view sustainability as a continuous journey, guided by our daily commitment to creating a positive impact on the environment, people, and the chemical industry. Our sustainability strategy integrates responsible practices, promotes the circular economy, increases the use of renewable energy, and focuses on low-impact innovative products.
